Essential Public Services

Milenge Town Council is committed to providing high-quality essential services to residents and businesses to ensure a functional and sustainable district.

  • Administration: Land administration and management.
  • Infrastructure: Creation and maintenance of township roads.
  • Sanitation: Comprehensive solid waste management.
  • Economic: Management of markets and business licensing.
  • Social: Community development and public meeting facilities.
  • Governance: Upholding law, order, and national security.

    • Regulatory Oversight & Public Health

    In the interest of public safety, the Council maintains strict oversight over the following sectors:

    Livestock & Food Safety

    Control of livestock management, regulation of carcass movement, and oversight of animal slaughtering. We certify meat for sale and dispose of products unfit for human consumption.

    Planning & Safety

    Inspection of business premises (including liquor sales) and control of land development, building construction, demolitions, and alterations to ensure public health and safety standards.

    Council Approval Required:

    All building alterations and business operations must be approved by the Council to comply with the Local Government Act. Unregulated developments may be subject to legal action.
